About

  • With a strategy for ICT in education in place and digital competence and programming written into the curriculum, how does Sweden plan to develop their school system in accordance with the strategy and how does curriculum changes develop into teacher practices?

Get key insights from Sweden’s work on its ICT strategy and curriculum changes. What is considered adequate digital competence for a student? What are the important competence building efforts needed for teachers and principals? What are the biggest challenges?

Digital transformation is not about what app, what digital tool or which eLearning resource you use. It’s about development and innovation of the teaching and leadership practice in schools - enabled and enhanced by technology.

Through several years working in school management at different levels, Lars has extensive experience in the connection between leadership, innovation and digital strategy. Lars is currently the Director of Education at Sweden’s National Agency of Education and has developed and launched several nationwide competence building programmes regarding change management, digitalisation and the implementation of educational technology in schools. He is currently working on implementing the National Digital Strategy for Education that the Swedish government decided on in late 2017.
