Enhancing Global Issue Understanding through Integrative Learning in Sixth Grade
The sixth-grade project-based learning program at our school aims to enhance students' understanding and analytical skills regarding global issues, encompassing critical topics such as world population, poverty and hunger, and environmental challenges. In recent years, we have integrated tools such as Google Earth, artificial intelligence (AI), and Google Forms to encourage students to actively explore the world and utilise AI technologies to identify problems and propose feasible solutions for the future.
Ultimately, students will demonstrate their learning processes and outcomes by creating personalised videos. This course design incorporates elements of emerging technologies and implements various levels of Bloom's Taxonomy—ranging from understanding and application to analysis, evaluation, and creation—thereby providing students with a comprehensive and engaging learning experience.
This approach not only fosters critical thinking and creativity but also equips students with essential skills for navigating and addressing complex global issues in the 21st century.
