'Where is Robin? Do you think he will arrive on time?' Robo asked Uncle Ben.'When pigs fly! He is always late!' Uncle Ben replied.'What? But pigs don't fly.’ Robo was puzzled.'So, I mean it's not going to happen!' Uncle Ben said impatiently.'Hello everybody!' Robin greeted Uncle Ben and Robo when he arrived by flying.'Oh, we forget that Robin can really fly!' Robo said.

"Pigs might fly" is an English idiom meaning never. We say "pigs might fly" (British English) or "when pigs fly" (North American English) when we believe that something will never happen or is impossble

Examples:

  1. Kitman:        Do you think he will help us?
    Debbie:        Yes when pigs fly.
  2. Alison:        He might tell us the truth this time.
Roger:        And pigs might fly. (It'll never happen.)
  3. Don't expect too much. He will arrive on time when pigs fly.
