Energy comes in different forms. Examples of energy source include natural gas, nuclear power, wind power and so on. Solar energy is one of the renewable sources of energy that generates power directly from sunlight.
The photons from the sun will be turned into electricity by solar cells. Compared with batteries, solar cells don’t have fuel, nor do they have electronic generators. In fact, when the photons hit the cells, an electric circuit can be easily created between the layers of the cells. It provides sustainable energy to small devices like calculators and even a building.
However, solar energy has its drawback as it is not stable, given that the sun is only shining during the daytime. A large area for solar panels is needed for a similar amount of energy production generated by traditional means like burning fossil fuels.
