eREAP - Easter Challenge of EnglishCentral 2018

Objectives

It is often reported that Hong Kong students are weak at listening and speaking skills. To improve these areas, one of the most effective methods would be through regular practice.

EnglishCentral offers high quality English videos and each of them comes with speaking, vocabulary and comprehension exercises. It can greatly strengthen students’ English ability. Log in to EnglishCentral with your HKEdCity student account and stand a chance of getting awarded!

Schools that participate in eREAP (Plan A) and using EnglishCentral, in 4 levels:

• Junior Primary School (P1 – P3)
• Senior Primary School (P4 – P6)
• Junior Secondary School (S1 – S3)
• Senior Secondary School (S4 – S6)

23 March 2018 (Fri) – 20 April 2018 (Fri)
 

Practices

• Students can log in to their EnglishCentral account, select the course ‘HKEdCity Easter Challenge’, and complete the following tasks: Watch the Videos (5 selected videos), Learn the Words and Speak the Lines.
• Students are encouraged to opt for a suitable level, and to nominate for individual awards
• Teachers could encourage students to join, and to nominate for school awards
• Students who achieved the following will be awarded with certificate of participation: Watch the Videos (5 selected videos), Learn the Words and Speak the Lines

* Student can attempt more than once, while the system will record the score of last attempt

** If there is a tie, students with more total completed sentences in ‘Speak the line’ win

Procedures

Please follow the steps below to log in to EnglishCentral:

1. Visit www.englishcentral.com, and click ‘SIGN-IN’, then click ‘Login with HKEdCity’
2. Use HKEdCity student account to log in
3. Based on levels, choose the right class, e.g. HKEdCity Easter Challenge (P1-P3) for P1 to P3 students
4. Click ‘Class Videos’ to ‘Watch the Videos’ (Total: 5)
5. Choose at least 3 (for primary levels) or 6 (for secondary levels) to ‘Learn the Words’ in each video
6. Choose at least 3 (for primary levels) or 6 (for secondary levels) to ‘Speak the Lines’ and complete the recording task**

**Students can attempt more than once, while the system will ONLY record the score of last attempt
