"Put yourself in someone's shoes" is an English idiom meaning try to understand someone's situation. If you put yourself in someone's shoes, you try to understand what his/her situation is like and think about it as if you were in the same situation.
Examples:
- Don’t get mad at him. Put yourself in his shoes and maybe you would do the same.
- Show your sympathy! You should try to put yourself in their shoes and understand them.
- We should always put ourselves in others' shoes to avoid conflicts.
