Frodo Baggins : Frodo is a hobbit. Having inherited the Ring of Power from his uncle, he embarks on a difficult journey to take it to Mount Doom and destroy it forever. Near the end, he is also tempted to possess the Ring himself. |

Sam Gamgee : As Frodo' s best friend, he has promised to accompany him to Mount Doom. He remains loyal to the end and advises Frodo not to trust Gallum. Though Frodo misunderstands him at times, Sam is always there to help him when in danger. |

Gollum : Once the Ring bearer, he promises to lead Frodo and Sam to the Black Gates of Mordor. The Ring drives him mad and he thinks of ways to trap Frodo so that he can can get it back. |

Aragorn : He is a brave warrior, fighting against Sauron and his Orcs to protect Middle-earth. When the King of Rohan dies, he leads the people of Middle-earth to fight. Two women love him and he has chosen one. |

Gandalf : He is a wise wizard, advising humans and hobbits how to fight evil. |
