Synopsis:
In a story that mirrors today's headlines regarding the experimentation and ethics of cloning and human engineering, Gattaca, set in the not-too-distant future, is the tale of a man who must overcome a world of genetic discrimination to pursue his dream of traveling into space. Vincent Freeman is an outsider, a natural birth, or "in-valid," living in a society where designing perfect offspring in a petri dish is the norm. Not willing to give up his dream, Vincent assumes the identity of a member of the genetic elite to pursue his goal of a mission to space with the Gattaca Aerospace Corporation. However, a week before his flight, a Gattaca mission director is murdered and an "in-valid" is singled out as a suspect. Unjustly accused, Vincent must elude the pursuit of relentless investigators in order to realize his dream.
