A Day In The Life Of A Worker Ant (id:65885) Name : Carol (cl1099)
2006-08-19
1968
Do you wonder the duties of the worker ants are like?
I am an energetic worker ant who lives in the Amazon rainforest. Every day, I am responsible for taking care of the young, looking for food as well as defending the nest from unwanted visitors. I also need to look after the eggs. During the daytime, the other worker ants and I move the eggs and larvae of the colony to the top of the nest, so that they can be kept in a warm place. At night, I move the eggs deep into the nest to protect them from the cold. Apart from this, I am given the job of taking out the garbage too. I take the garbage from the nest and then put it outside in a special ant garbage dump.
I work from day to night and that's why I am called " worker ant".
