Language Skills

  • Vocabulary:
    • Names of animals on the farm, e.g. cow, duck, horse, goat, pigs
    • Sounds animals made, e.g. MOO, BAA, OINK, QUACK
  • Use the interrogative pronoun ‘what’ to find out specific information about a person, e.g. What is your favourite animal?
  • Use the auxiliary verb ‘do’ to seek information, e.g. Do you like pigs?


  • Guess the meaning of unfamiliar words by using contextual or pictorial clues
  • Locate specific information in a short text in response to questions
