English Campus - Weekly Highlights

Dear Friends of English Campus

Happy Valentine's Day! Valentine's Day is a festival to celebrate love. What is love? Whom do you love? Your parents, brothers and sisters, teachers, classmates, or your pets? How would you show your love to them? Don't just love them on 14 February! You should care for them every day!

As you are going to celebrate this festival, do you know the Origin of Valentine's Day? Do you know there is a Chinese Valentine's Day as well? It is also known as the Lantern Festival. This year, the Chinese Valentine's Day is on 5 February 2004. Let us take a look at the Origin of this Chinese festival! In Hong Kong, Lantern Festival celebrations are organized by the government. Hope you enjoy them!

This year, English Campus has organized a Love Letter Competition for you. You can send us the letter you write for your beloved. Love is a common theme in Poems, Drama & Film as well as Songs. Let us read and listen to some of the classic ones online now! For learning, we have prepared audio clips of some Words related to the theme of love. From the Video & Audio Clips, you can see how people in different cultures celebrate Valentine's Day. You can also try the Recipes and Games during this festival! Last but not the least, send an e-card to your beloved, telling them how much you care for them!

Once again, we wish you a merry Valentine's Day!
