Episode preview

16-year-old Nitya Das, a grade-11 student and a classical Indian dancer, will host this 6th episode of the Road Scholars series. Nitya decides to travel all the way to Greece and Turkey, hoping to study Classical Civilization right where it all happened in ancient times. She also hopes to make a wish in the oracles tunnel at the Temple of Apollo.

Nitya starts out feeling unsure whether she can manage. Then she learns that she can manage a lot of things, which is most surprising to herself. She manages to bear her fear about being away from her parents and her spoiled guinea pig for a whole month, even though on the trip she still wakes up from sleep and screams for mother.

She manages to stay out all night and have fun shopping and bar hopping, even though she still thinks people should go to bed early. She manages to appreciate the nude statues in the National Archaeological Museum in Athens, which she videotapes for us to see. She also manages to bare all in the Turkish bath and go naked with her teachers and all her friends, which she will not videotape for us to see.
