17-year-old Danny Hahm from Toronto hosts this third
episode of the Road Scholars series. He's going to study
Science & Society in Costa Rica, which in Spanish means
"rich coast" and is known as the "Switzerland of the
Americas". Danny saw Costa Rica the first time on a
TV documentary when he was 7 years old, and he's going
to make his own TV documentary now that he's 10 years
older.
He expects to earn a senior high school credit by lying
on the beach and having a nice relaxing time. He ends
up spending much of his time bathing in volcanic mud,
scuba diving in the ocean, sitting in hot springs, doing
synchronized swimming in the pool, building castles
in the sand, playing crab soccer on the beach, and dancing
the Salsa in Latin music, which he does with 34 girls
and 6 guys on the same trip.
When he's not busy doing his course work or thinking
about the difficulty in choosing a girl friend from
among the 34 cute girls on the trip, he gets to go on
the Skywalk suspension bridges to see the clouds forest,
and to hear and touch nature in a rain forest by walking
through it blind-folded.
