多元智者 2010-06-10	多元智者的回應最近家中較有系統地進行廢物分類，預先會用袋儲存要分類的廢物，並隔天攜至廢物分類回收箱，再逐一放置適當箱子內。若家中有幼童的話，與他們一起進行分類回收意義會更大。各位不防一試。

多元智者 2010-06-05	多元智者的回應今天正是「世界環境日」，可惜的是，從過往數天至今天為止，只看見一則報章報導及今天雅虎(香港)網頂部細字標題有相關信息，可見港人及媒體對環保是何等的冷莫及選擇性忽略。不知本地環保組織有否相同感受。畢竟如何，盼望每一位市民再三深思1987年發表的「布倫特蘭報告」當中名句，即「人類有能力使發展具可持續性，即有能力在確保資源滿足我們現在發展需要的同時，也不損害資源滿足後人需要的能力」。

多元智者 2010-06-02	多元智者的回應曾作為前線老師的我，還記得每年均會帶領一眾同學參加不同組織舉辦的植樹活動，其中包括漁農自然護理署、長春社等。印象較深的是早年於大欖隧道三號幹線旁山頭植樹活動，不論老師及學生均全力以赴，旨在透過樹木進行光合作用，加強吸取大氣中碳量，以紓緩溫室效應。盼讀者立定植樹為每年其中一項目標，攜手對抗全球暖化。

They either break apart and are released into the soil or are incinerated and the deadly heavy metals are released into the air. Did you know that the average annual use of mercury in batteries is over what the government limits in dump sites by four times. Here is what you can do to help: use batteries which are rechargeable. Recycle alkaline batteries if you can. They can extract the mercury and cadmium for reuse

Now that wise use of material and saving of input energy is an advocate in Cleaner production practice rather than performing downstream 3R practices as carbon audit illustrates that Cleaner Production is even more effective in reducing the carbon footprint. To be honest, how do you comment the effectiveness of 3R practices in Hong Kong notwithstanding it has been implemented for decades?? What's the feedback from others?

I understand that teachers and students find long Qs. & narrative ones with open end style is useful for their reviewing what's been learnt holistically. What's the suggestion from other teachers in terms of online Q. types?

多元智者 2010-06-01	多元智者的回應現在不少學校、餐廳以至酒店均施行廚餘堆肥，我個人覺得這意念可行，但需要政府或組織資助推行，不論器材及專家意見的提供，均是成功的要訣。你又怎樣看「廚餘堆肥」呢？

But I think that it is to certain degree a culture in the big cities. How about if Government incentives could be provided to the restaurants if they adopt using degradable accessories (in case the dine in culture could not be nurtured)? How about others' views?

How could the fragile electronics be packed in a simple way without causing any damage got to be an issue to think about by the producers.....

多元智者 2010-05-30	多元智者的回應其實以香港這亞熱帶地方，夏季有悶熱的氣侯在所難免，若家家戶戶均開空調降溫，城市內「熱島效應」只會加劇。大家不防參考一般澳州人的做法，他們多會會聚於有空調的大型購物廣場消閒，並與友好傾談，以減少家家户户的用電所導致的能源消耗加總。你又覺得這方法可行嗎？

張老師 2010-05-29	張老師的回應 Respond to Miss Wong's sharing, I agree that if the products are truely organic, it could really benefit the Earth as all steps in organic practices pursue in minimizing the carbon mile. For example, if organic veggies are picked up from a local farm by a customer, the 'food mile' in terms of carbon emission could be avoided as no transpotation for delivery of the veggies is needed. It's even better if customer(s) could adopt the car pool method (group together in a car) and gain access to the farms to further avoid their carbon footprint. Would others propose even better ways to minimize our footprint?

Miss Wong 2010-05-28	Miss Wong的回應 Now that advocate of organic diet is a hot topic among many countries. Even in HK, the organic market is really big. But one got to be aware that only true organic products with strict organic practices and get pass in the organic audit trail and certified organic by authority bodies (such as an organic certification body) could really relieve the burden of our Earth. For those self claiming 'organic', they have only one common goal, which is to gain more in monetary terms by selling at higher prices. As a wise consumer, you got to make the right choice!!
