Heart has a very kind heart and she adopts a sick and hurt horse.
She takes care of it with love and so it recovers quickly. Even
though the mare's baby is weak and ugly, she never thought about
abandoning them. In Hong Kong, many pets are abandoned because they
are old, sick or ugly. Sometimes, owners lose interest in their
pets when they grow up and are no longer cute or are too big for
their small flats.
There are several HK organisations which take care of abandoned
animals and deal with animal welfare. Check out 'Star of the Month'
at the
Society for Abandoned Animals to read some heart-warming stories
on abandoned animals. You can also visit the
Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals for more information
on how to adopt an animal.
Do you have any pets? What kinds of animals are they? What should
people think about before they decide to keep a pet? What would
you do if you found an abandoned animal on the street?

I have a cat. People should consider if they can take care of the animals until they die. Cats and dogs can have a life span of more than a decade. People should really consider if they can take up this long-term responsibility.
