Summer holiday is a good chance for us to read more. Let's read some abstract of the books in Library. The Promise Pedro had lost hope. He had a baby boy but he had no money, no work. How could he believe the promise of the old negress? 'Your boy will grow up and become famous,' she told him. 'Be a good father to the boy. One day he will be a good son to you.' Billy Budd 1797- the Mediterranean. Britain and France are at war. British warships are fighting French warships. Young Billy Budd arrives on the British warship, Indomitable. Billy is strong and handsome. Most of the sailors on teh ship like Billy. But he has an enemy -- John Claggart, the master-at-arms. Claggart hates Billy. And he has a plan. He will make trouble for the young sailor.   The Princess Diaries Mia Thermopolis lives with her artist mother and her cat, Fat Louis, in an apartment in Greenwich Village. She is an ordibary New York teenager. Ordinary, that is, until Mia finds out the Shocking truth-she is a princess!

Activity

"The Sunday Smile" Drawing and Writing Competitions (The submission deadline is extended to 23rd October, 2009.) The competitions are based on the English radio programme for primary school children, “The Sunday Smile”, which is broadcast every Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on RTHK3 (AM567, AM1584/ FM106.8 HK South, FM97.9 Happy Valley & Jardine’s Lookout & Parkview Corner, FM107.8 Tseung Kwan O & Tin Shui Wai). The competitions are categorised into lower and upper primary levels: (i) Listen and Draw (for Primary 1-3 pupils) and (ii) Listen and Write (for Primary 4-6 pupils) Detailed information about the competitions and the entry forms can be downloaded from "The Sunday Smile" website.
