Learning
English
"I¡¦ve learnt a lot of my English from YouTube
and even have my
own channel. I've posted more than 100 videos.
I talk about anything I like. Listening to myself
speak English is really useful. Online friends
helped me with my pronunciation. In
this video, I open the AFS envelope to find
out where I'm going for my exchange year. I
was SO excited.
School
in Belgium
Actually, we learn a lot of languages in Belgium.
I come from the Dutch-speaking part so we learn
that language first. I started to learn French
when I was 10, English when I was 13 and German
when I was 15. I also chose to learn Spanish
as well. I took 16 subjects in Belgium, including
5 languages, Maths, PE, music, art and three
sciences. We have lots of homework so, in some
ways, it's quite similar to Hong Kong. Belgian
students have more freedom. Teachers won't remind
us to do homework.

Learning
Cantonese
Now I'm learning Cantonese! The grammar is
quite easy but the tones are really hard to
get right! And most people want to speak English
to me so I don't get much chance to practice. |
School
in Hong Kong
My school is great. I have lots of friends
and everyone is helpful. Here are photos to
prove it!

Going
home
I will leave Hong Kong in June with many happy
memories. I'm looking forward to seeing my parents,
younger sister and friends. My family lives
in a small town, beside a field. My life will
be totally different but I'll show you on my
YouTube channel. See you there!" |
