Cassim and his working place!

What do you do?
"I work in the multimedia team and am mainly responsible for creating, maintaining and revamping the companyˇ¦s website. We combine audio, video, images and text to create learning material. I try to keep in touch with modern trends so that the website is appealing to students, parents and teachers. We want to make it easy for everyone to find information at HKEdCity.

I have worked on the Boundless websites for the last three years. We try to combine online and offline learning for student to arouse their interest in English. Teachers can also use this project to provide interactive teaching in their classroom.

I studied Multimedia Design at MiddleSex University, so this job is perfect for me. I like doing creative, diverse and artistic jobs. Iˇ¦m working on the Boundless website today. I might be working on a Chinese language game tomorrow."

about lukew

What are your favourite websites?
HKEdCity of course!!! I also browse some websites related my job. As a multimedia designer, I need to keep up-to-date with the latest trends. http://www.lukew.com/ is one of my favourites. The co-founder, Luke Wroblewski is an internationally recognized product designer who has worked on software used by more than 700 million people worldwide.

The Future of the Internet
I guess network speed will be the biggest change in the Internet in the next ten years. Users want to watch live TV. For example, soccer fans might want to watch World Cup games live on their mobile phones. People will be able to browse the Internet anytime and anywhere on different devices, including mobile phones. All of this will require much bigger bandwidth.

Learning Online
Computers are now commonly used in Hong Kong classrooms. Students are using the Internet for research projects. I guess that e-learning will replace some textbooks in this decade. The Internet is a great resource for learning but parents and teachers must guide students on whether materials are suitable for them to see.

Have fun learning online!
